Shopping

It's always fun to wonder about people in the checkout line at the grocery store and their selections.

Today, I watched someone buy the strange combination of light beer, Diet Coke, and a bag of celery.

I suppose one might need a case of light beer to drown out the taste of Diet Coke and celery.

Oh wow! I do that, too. I make up little scenes in which they are going to use all their products.

I'm going to have to be more aware of the items I'm buying from now on. Only last week I bought the following four items at the same time

2 lg Boxes of powdered douche
1 wire brush
2 pairs rubber gloves
1 bottle of wine

I never gave it any thought. Who would have guessed someone might be looking my groceries over for clues.

And to save myself more embarrassment I'll explain my purchases. The two boxes of powdered douche were to use as paste for the dog since she decided to antagonize a skunk. Our vet said it would help with the smell. The wire brush was to replace the one originally used, but now stinky, on the dog. The rubber gloves to help work the paste onto the dog. And finally, the wine. Because after all that I was going to need a nice glass of wine.

Sounds like the makings for a horrendous drink...

I have also wondered what someone who was Sherlock Holmes-ing my purchases would think. And cowered a bit. I am tempted to turn and say to the person behind me "There's more than one person in my family, remember - just in case you're wondering."

I somehow doubt it would make it better.
