President Obama

Now that everything is said and done, I look forward to seeing what will happen in Obama's presidency. I'm just relieved to have the whole election behind us.

Ultra-conservatives are dressing themselves in sackcloth and ashes, bemoaning the doom of America.

Ultra-liberals are crying and shouting with joy at their supposed messianic figure.

I'll be happy with something in between the two perspectives.

I doubt it will be the death of the republic.

I think Obama ran as a human Rorschach test, and his supporters will have conflicting expectations of him. I suspect he will be more of an empty suit than anything. I hope he's adaptable.

Even though I'm one of those ultra-liberals, I too am hoping for a middle-of-the-road approach. He'll get the most done if he pisses off both parties on a regular basis :-)

While I didn't vote for him (and my vote was very reluctantly cast at all!) I am hoping for the best, despite my strong disagreements with the ideals he has spoken of in the past. I pray for his success (not personal success but success for the true betterment of America.)
